legacy of this legendary Cape Town secret is
approaching a decade now, and owners Enrico and
Gioacchino are still infusing their unique blend of energy
and personality into every fantastic dish.
Over
the years the cosy little establishment has
expanded to twice its size, right in the heart of
Main Road, Seapoint, one of Cape Town’s most
established and iconic suburbs. The restaurant
quickly established itself as a local favourite, bursting at the seams night after
night.
With
relentlessly innovative, fresh ideas, the food has
always been outstanding, with simple, fresh
ingredients used to simply get the best from the
dish, all in more than generous portions, and

"Loyal patrons cram into this muchloved Sea Point pizza parlour while the restaurant cat does its rounds weaving between table legs. At this easy-going place that pumps on Fridays, white-clothed tables have bottle-green overlays, and they aren't too fashionable to use dried herbs. Meals are mix-and-match - any pizza topping can become a pasta sauce and vice versa - but even if it's not listed they're happy to oblige. Toppings extend to salmon, caviar and cream cheese and there are those who swear by these thinbottomed bases as the best in the city. Service is upbeat and there's an outside patio. The wine list is an unassuming one-pager with some nice gems."

The
food, unique atmosphere and character of
Ristorante Posticino has landed the
restaurant a firm position in Dine Magazines’
South African Top 100, as well as enjoyed plethora
of media attention over the years.
The
pizzas are a particular highlight, and the
traditional thin-base pizzas are regarded by some as the best outside of
Napoli! Well, at the very
least, they are certainly the best in Cape Town.
All pizzas are handmade and wood fired… just the
way it should be.
The
restaurant retains a personal feel with the
personality of the hosts always apparent.
Beautiful black and white images of the hosts'
young children adorn the walls, as well as
original images of their parents before arriving
in South Africa.
A
customer at Posticino soon becomes a friend, and
friends sit amongst friends around log fires in
winter, and watch the sun set in the warmer
months.
